Cookbook for Shelters

Joy has been fascinated with food during her time at Emma Willard School. She applied her extensive previous experiences on campus (like her STEAM 10 experiment on breakfast quality and test performance) to her Signature project. Joy volunteered at local shelters, creating and cooking affordable meals for the residents. Her culminating project is a cookbook that she created entirely and donated to the shelters. Joy wrote the recipes, and cooked and photographed all of the dishes. She even developed a coding system to identify her meals as on of the SNAP letters (speedy, nutritious, affordable, palatable by using icons. Read more about her project in her blog.
